When buying online, customers rely on the product titles, descriptions and pictures to help them make purchases. Using the language of the local market ensures customers have the information needed to make informed purchasing decisions.Your product listings need to be written in language(s) currently supported by TikTok Shop by Tokopedia.
What Languages are Supported for Product Listings?
Your product title, description, and text within product images should be written in at least one of these supported languages:- English
- Bahasa Indonesia
In What Circumstances Can I Use Unsupported Languages?
Unsupported languages can be incorporated under certain conditions:- If product images contain text in an unsupported language, they must be accompanied by a translation in a supported language.
- Registered trademark brand names in unsupported languages are permissible.
- Using unsupported language to demonstrate a product feature, like showcasing a pen's writing capability, is allowed.
- Product images may include background text in unsupported languages if the text is unrelated to the product.
- The appearance of an unsupported language on the packaging or the physical product itself is allowed.

- Example A: The word "Shoes" is provided in brackets in the product image. This is acceptable.
- Example B: The onscreen display is in a different language while demonstrating the product. This is acceptable.
- Example C: Text unrelated to the product (behind the product) is in an unsupported language. This is acceptable.

- Examples D & E: Text on the product packaging or product itself is in an unsupported language. This is acceptable.
What Happens if I Use Unsupported Languages in my Product Listings?
If you are found to violate these guidelines, you may have enforcement actions taken against your account.
