Setting up your TikTok Shop by Tokopedia profile is an important step towards selling on our platform. In order to facilitate a smooth application and onboarding process, please adhere to the guidelines below.

Choosing An Effective Shop Name

Choosing a good shop name is essential because it represents your brand on TikTok Shop by Tokopedia. An appropriate shop name gives customers a positive impression of your shop, strengthening your brand and increasing brand recognition among customers. As such, it is important that you choose a shop name that is unique, easy to remember, and representative of your commercial business. In addition, please ensure that you adhere to the shop naming guidelines below.

Shop Names Should Abide by Our Technical Naming Requirements

Shop names should adhere to our technical requirements.

• Shop names should not contain more than 40 characters.
• Shop names must be in the official language of the local marketplace.
• Shop names must not contain any external contact information (e.g. website links, phone numbers, social media account information).
• Shop names must not contain an unintelligible string of text or be solely alphanumeric, or include special characters (*, \, ?, ], etc.). Pure numbers are also not allowed.

Shop Names Should be Appropriate

Shop names should be appropriate. As such, shop names must not contain:

• Illegal information, including banned product names or discriminatory language.
• Inappropriate political language or other information that may trigger misunderstanding, bias, dispute, or negatively affect consumers.
• Hate speech or content that attacks or incites violence against any individual or group.
• Any abusive content, such as violent threats.
• Any sexually suggestive, sex-related or explicit content
• Any names of prohibited or unsupported products outlined in our TikTok Shop by Tokopedia Prohibited Products Guidelines and TikTok Shop by Tokopedia Restricted and Unsupported Products Guidelines.

Shop Names Should be Original

Shop names should be original and unique.

• You should not copy the shop name of other sellers.
• Shop names are prohibited from containing purely generic words or sole categories that do not represent the business clearly and completely (e.g., automotive, shop, store, etc.)
• Shop names should not contain exaggerated descriptions or comparisons (e.g., "better", "the best", "vs").

Shop Names Must be Authorized

Any references to platforms or brands should be authorized. Shop names must not:

• Make reference to "TikTok" or "TikTok Shop by Tokopedia" without TikTok's permission.
• Make reference to third-party platforms (e.g., Lazada, Shopee, Amazon) without authorized permission.
• Contain any brand names without the brand owner's written permission. If you choose to use terms like "official", "flagship", "authorized" or "brand" as part of your shop name, you must submit relevant brand owner authorization.

It is essential that you choose a shop name that is unique, easy to remember, and representative of your commercial business. Please note that you may be required to take additional steps if you wish to change your shop name after the first submission. For further information, please raise a ticket in Seller Center.

Completing Your Shop/Seller Profile

To ensure the safety and integrity of our platform, sellers must provide all necessary information and documentation required by TikTok Shop by Tokopedia. Accordingly, sellers are expected to complete their Seller Profile under the My Account tab on the Seller Center.

Payment Information

To avoid payment delays, please ensure that you provide accurate bank account information during the registration process.
