Account Balance Requirements

We require you to avoid negative account balances, meaning that you must maintain an account value above zero. You may achieve this by maintaining a positive cashflow.
Negative balances occur when your account balance has a value below zero, meaning that you may have outstanding fees with TikTok Shop by Tokopedia.
We reserve the right to take enforcement actions and suspend your benefits if the negative account balances meet any of the following conditions:
  • Negative account balance of any amount for 20 consecutive days
  • Negative account balance exceeding US$100

What are some reasons I may have a Negative Balance?

Negative balances may occur when miscellaneous platform expenses exceed shop revenue. The following reasons may contribute to a negative balance.
  • Your product pricing may be inaccurate (mispriced) or unreasonably low.
  • Your listed product weight may be inaccurate, leading to higher shipping costs.
  • You may have entered your seller promotion incorrectly, leading to lower revenue.
  • You may have sent out too many creator samples, incurring high shipping expenses.

What happens if I breach these guidelines?

If you are found to violate these guidelines, you may have enforcement actions taken against your account. You should note that repeated offenses will result in more significant penalties.

When will enforcement actions be taken against negative balances?

  • If you have: (1) had a negative account balance for 10 consecutive days; and (2) an average negative account balance during the previous 7-day period which exceeds the equivalent of US$100, we may freeze your wallet withdrawal function. Click here to learn more.
  • If you have had a negative balance for more than 20 consecutive days, we may deduct the available funds from any monies due, or that may become due to you (including but not limited to any sale proceeds) to resolve the negative balance.
  • If you have a negative balance greater than US$100, certain seller benefits will be limited. Click here to learn more.
  • If your negative balances are not resolved for more than 30 days AND the average negative balance over the previous seven days exceeds US$100, we may deactivate your account.
