ShopTokopedia cares about the safety of our customers. To promote a secure and positive shopping environment, we restrict the sale of certain products on our platform. If you are just starting to sell on ShopTokopedia, make sure you understand in advance whether the products you sell are included in restricted products.

A. About Restricted Products

  • Restricted Products refer to certain types of products that require prior approval from ShopTokopedia to be sold.
  • Sellers who wish to sell restricted products may be required to pass a category approval process before selling such products.
  • This process may require sellers to submit documents including but not limited to;
    • Certifications,
    • Testing reports
    • Product or package images, or
    • Other regulatory documentation.

B. What Types of Categories are Included in The Restricted Products list?

As a seller in Tokopedia, you may be required to include proof of compliance with standards, permits, or registration of goods on your product list before the product can be sold. Similar to Tokopedia, some categories Restricted Products at ShopTokopedia are also required to include proof of standard compliance.

BPOM Distribution Permit NumberEnsure appropriate packaging and a safe expiration date.Perishable products must have clear expiration date details in the product description.
  • Valid certification issued by an official certification body: BPOM, SPP-IRT dan PSAT.
  • Image of the packaging label containing all mandatory information required by relevant laws and regulations
  • Detailed Product Information: Product name, Ingredients, Net weight or contents, Name and address of products manufacturer or importer, Halal certification (if any), Production date and batch number, Expiry date, Source of ingredients listed in the product, Shelf life information, Storage conditions and Other details where applicable.

  • Drugs
Supplements & Vitamins
  • BPOM Distribution Permit Number for medicines, supplements and vitamins
including vitamins and supplements for infant and childbirth purposes.Sellers must submit documents showing that the products are safe for customers.
  • Valid certification issued by an official certification body BPOM
  • Image of the packaging label containing all mandatory information required by relevant laws and regulations
  • Detailed Product Information: Product name, Ingredients, Net weight or volume, Name and address of the manufacturer or importer of the product, Halal certification (if applicable), Production date and batch number, Expiry date, Warning/precautionary statement and Other details where applicable.
Household Medical Devices for Personal Use
  • Medical supplies
  • Adult Products
  • Hygiene kits
  • Medical Device Distribution License Number from the Ministry of Health for Medical Equipment and Adult Products
  • Household Health Supplies Distribution License Number from the Ministry of Health for Hygiene Product Equipment
Applies to all products in this category (including vitamins and supplements for infant and childbirth purposes).Sellers must submit documents showing that the products are safe for customers.
  • Medical Device Distribution Permits (Izin Edar Alat Kesehatan) issued by the Ministry of Health.

C. How to Submit Documents for Limited Products Owned?

Here's how to submit documents for Limited Products that you want to sell:
  1. Open the Seller Center homepage and select "Products" > "Manage Products."

  1. Click "Add New Product" and fill in the mandatory attributes on the "Product Attributes" tab. Mandatory attributes will be labeled as "Required" to distinguish them from optional attributes.
  2. Fill in the mandatory attribute fields by:
  • Selecting from the options available in the drop-down list; or
  • Manually entering the information as free text.
  1. Click "Submit for review"

D. What Happens if a Seller Violates the Limited Products Regulations?

ShopTokopedia will conduct audits at any time and take firm action against sellers who violate our guidelines.
Some of the enforcement actions we may take include:
Note: If a seller believes that the action taken against them was made in error, they can appeal through their Store Health page.
  • Rejecting product listings.
  • Removing products from the seller's store.
  • Assigning violation points to a seller's shop. Accumulating a certain number of violation points may result in the revocation of the seller's privileges.
